Will Donald Trump Watch the Democratic Debate? Understanding Media Manipulation and Campaign Strategies

Will Donald Trump Watch the Democratic Debate?

Yesterday, it seemed as if Donald Trump had better things to do than watch the debates. However, just a few minutes later, he was on Twitter reacting to the proceedings. This inconsistency in his approach raises questions about his true interest in these debates.

Without a doubt, I am sure that Trump will find a reason to watch the upcoming debate. I tried to watch the first one, but managed only to stay for 25 minutes. Nothing new came from the discussion, which largely revolved around the theme of “free” healthcare for all and universal Medicare.

According to Universal Medicare, many hospitals and doctor's offices would be forced to close, leading to a staggering amount of debt. Corporate tax rates would be reduced, but only for those who make significant amounts of money, effectively going back to a period when unemployment was high and there was an increased need for food stamps.

Other discussed topics included free college educations for all, the forgiveness of student loan debits, and the government's takeover of green energy technology research. Trump also suggested that more money should be taken from the top executives of McDonalds to redistribute to the workers flipping burgers.

The debate highlighted the absurdity of some of the proposed policies, which can be described as old, impossible socialistic dreams.

During the first debate, there was no clear front-runner with the same level of gravitas as Hillary Clinton, who faced defeat in the previous election from the electorate. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has yet to determine the nominee, and with the upcoming debates, it is clear that Fauxcahontas (as Trump referred to her) will continue her attempts to sway the electorate.

It is evident that Trump understands the power of television. He knows how to gather useful information and manipulate the messages being sent out. Over the decades, he has become an expert in this art, primarily for his own benefit. While he might not try to interrupt the debate tonight, it is highly likely that he will do so tomorrow.

As the debate season continues, it will be fascinating to see which candidates begin to receive negative coverage from the media. This will likely be an indicator of which candidate the DNC favors. Trump's approach to the debates showcases a keen understanding of the power of media and the importance of strategic interactions with the public.
