Eligibility Changes in NABARD Grade A and B 2021 Exam
Hey Fellas! The NABARD Grade A and B notifications for the year 2021 have been released, and with it comes a detailed breakdown of the exam requirements. This article will cover the number of seats, age limit, educational qualifications, and exam patterns for both NABARD Grade A and NABARD Grade B. Let's dive into the details!
NABARD Grade A
Total Seats: The total number of seats for NABARD Grade A is 148, including all streams and reservation categories.
Age Limit
General: 21–30 years as of 1st July 2021 OBC: 33 years with a 3-year relaxation SC/ST/Ex-servicemen/Emergency Commissioned Officers/Short Service Commissioned Officers (subject to certain conditions): 35 years with a 5-year relaxation PWD (General PWD): 10 years relaxation PWD (OBC): 13 years relaxation PWD (SC/ST): 15 years relaxationNote that no cumulative age relaxation will be available to any applicant.
Educational Qualifications
General: At least 60 in Graduation or 55 in Post-Graduation or CA/CS/ICWA or Ph.D. certification with no minimum marks requirement SC/ST/PWD: 55 in Graduation or 50 in Post-Graduation or CA/CS/ICWA or Ph.D. from institutions recognized by GOI/UGC without any minimum marks OBC qualifications are not separately mentioned, thus the general category criterion is assumed to apply to OBCs as wellExam Pattern
Phase 1: MCQ-based questions with the following sections test of reasoning, English language, computer knowledge, quantitative aptitude, and decision making. These sections are qualifying, and the marks will not be added to the Phase II merit list.
Phase II: Merged MCQ and descriptive paper. This is a significant change from the previous year, as agriculture and rural development sections have been removed. Negative marking of 1/4th will apply to both phases.
In case of tie-ups in the final merit list, the following will be considered:
- Candidate with higher marks in the main examination
- Candidate with a higher degree qualification
- Candidate with higher marks in graduation
- Candidate senior in age
Phase 3: Interview worth 50 marks. In case of a tie-up in the interview, the candidate with higher mains marks will be ranked higher.

NABARD Grade B
Total Seats: A total of 7 seats are available for NABARD Grade B.
Age Limit
General: 25 to 32 years as of 1st July 2021 OBC: 35 years with a 3-year relaxation SC/Ex-servicemen/Emergency Commissioned Officers/ Short Service Commissioned Officers (subject to certain conditions)/Children/family members of victims died in the 1984 riots: 37 years with a 5-year relaxation PWD (General PWD): 10 years relaxation PWD (OBC): 13 years relaxation PWD (SC/ST): 15 years relaxationNo cumulative age relaxation will be available to any applicant except as specified above.
Educational Qualifications
General: Post-Graduation/MBA/PGDM with 60 marks, plus 60 marks in 10th, 12th, and Graduation examinations, or a minimum of 60 in 10th, 12th, Graduation, and a professional degree such as CA/CS/ICWA, or a minimum of 60 or equivalent in 10th, 12th, Graduation, and Ph.D. SC/PWD: Marks requirement is 55 with a minimum educational qualification of 60 in 10th, 12th, Graduate, and professional degrees Mandatory experience: A minimum of 3 years for General and 2 years for SC/PWD, working in banking, finance, agriculture, or related sectors.Exam Pattern
Phase 1: MCQ-based questions as in NABARD Grade A. Refer to the information mentioned in the NABARD Grade A Phase 1 section for details.
Phase II: Merged MCQ and descriptive paper. Similar to NABARD Grade A, negative marking of 1/4th will apply. In the case of equal marks in total examination, the candidate with higher marks in the main examination will be ranked higher. If still tied, the candidate with the higher qualification or higher graduation marks will be ranked higher, and in case of a further tie-up, the candidate senior in age will be ranked higher.
Phase 3: Interview worth 50 marks. The same rules apply as mentioned in NABARD Grade A regarding tie-ups.
