Does God Require Evidence?

Believers often ask you to structure your entire life around their concept of a divine being. This can cost you time, money, and can significantly impact your relationships and personal freedoms. While I acknowledge the cultural and historical significance of such beliefs, it's important to question whether this can be done without solid evidence.

Belief vs. Evidence

Your point that belief in an invisible deity can be satisfying, and yet if you derive your happiness from the absence of such belief, that's equally valid. However, when it comes to following a set of rules or moral directives attributed to this deity, it's reasonable to request proof of the deity's existence. Over the past 4,000 years, humans have been asking for this proof, but none has been forthcoming.

Evidence and Religion

The need for proof is not inconsequential. Historically, humans have invented gods. This fact alone reveals when, where, and by whom various deities and religions were created. It's crucial to understand that claims about the nature of God need to be verified to determine their accuracy.

Many religious claims about God, such as attributes and actions, require verification. Without proof, it's impossible to know the veracity of these claims. This requires rational inquiry and evidence, not just blind faith.

Historical Context and Modern Day Evidence

The evidence suggests that the existence of God as portrayed in Christianity was invented around 100 AD by a sect of Jews who broke away from Judaism. This biblical narrative was then codified into the Bible, which is the cornerstone of the Christian religion. Prior to this, there were no mentions of this God in historical records.

Despite these historical considerations, I personally feel that I am evidence for the existence of God. My life since the 1950s has been marked by continuous and consistent miracles. These miracles are so profound and unprecedented that they have transformed the world into a miraculous era. However, many people, especially younger generations, do not fully realize the magnitude of these miracles because they have been present throughout their lives.

For those who are approximately 10 years older than me, they can better explain and understand these profound changes. These miracles include the ability of all people to see, hear, and even share the same thoughts, although the complexities of thought are still being explored. As one of the living witnesses to this era, I have seen the impact of these miracles daily and I remain a testament to the presence of a divine being.
