The lack of clear instructions contributed to the frustration of students and hindered progress. Another critical issue was the reliance on group work for writing assignments. Coordinating group projects between 4-5 individuals with varying levels of motivation and writing skills without face-to-face class interactions proved to be a nightmare. The result was excessive work for individuals who were expected to carry the load while managing group conflicts.

Impact on Academic Performance

These shortcomings not only affected the quality of education but also hit hard on my academic performance. Filing numerous complaints to the administration became a regular part of my routine. Despite these efforts, my grades suffered, indicating the systemic issues with the program. The persistence required to navigate these challenges became emotionally and mentally taxing, often leading me to the main office in a state close to tears.

By the end of my time at CSU, I emerged with a satisfactory GPA, which was largely due to my resolve and the support from the administrative office. This experience left me with doubts about the effectiveness of the nursing program and the overall educational quality of the university.

Based on my experiences, there are valid reasons to question the quality and effectiveness of the nursing program at Cleveland State University. While the university excels in providing upward mobility and conducting relevant research, the shortcomings observed in my program suggest that other programs might also face similar issues.
