A Journey Through Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan: An Ex-Batch Student's Perspective
It is incredibly satisfying to study in the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS). Students here receive world-class facilities and opportunities to develop their academic as well as their personalities through extracurricular activities.#160;KVS students have achieved various milestones in all sectors available in India. Since KVS institutions are spread throughout the country, they are the best education institutions for children of transferable job employees.
Introduction to KVS
Hi there! I am from the 2019 passout batch from KVS Dehuroad, Pune. It has been years since I left school, and I believe I am the right person to introduce the prestigious KVS.
First of all, KVS has an exceedingly amiable surrounding. Teachers here are very diligent and experienced. KVS conducts separate exams and interviews for the recruitment of teachers!
I studied in KVS for 8 long years in two different schools, and both were the best of the best! KVS has produced commendable alumni that would take a long time to list. KVS is not just for the children of army personnel; it also gives admission to children of persons serving in the civil service as well. Although priority and vacancies are given to defense personnel due to their transfer-related issues, KVS provides the best education and equipment for athletes. Trained students in all sports activities, musical activities, yoga, and ATL (Atal Tinkering Labs) to inspire students for their curiosity, innovative, and creative minds. ATL has been added to the schools since 2018-2019.
Experiences in KVS
Speaking about the studies, KVS is the best. The environment is so friendly that it allows you to explore and perform your skills in front of all. The majority of kids from army personnel leave school in 2-3 years, and new kids arrive, making it easy to make friends due to the surrounding. Otherwise, outside, it would be challenging to do so. A hard truth.
The day starts with a morning prayer in the assembly ground, and all classes have to stand firm next to each other. The assembly starts with prayer, pledge, thought of the day, news, special item announcement, birthdays, and the National Anthem. If the principal comes to announce something, you have to stand in the sun for 40 minutes extra. Not just this, if the sports teacher minds change and wishes to come on the stage, he will start mass PT in the burning sun for sure. Every 1 in 10 students used to fall down on the ground due to this, and so did I.
We have four houses in school, each resembling four well-known mountains of India. On Saturdays or Wednesdays, we have to wear different uniforms representing the houses in red, green, blue, and yellow.
You have to look well-dressed in the uniform, with polished shoes, nails, and hairs cut short every day, otherwise, the sports teacher will punish you by standing in the hot sun and cleaning the whole football ground, no mercy. But we loved it anyways.
Exams are conducted very well, and the results of KVS are great. NCC (National Cadet Corps) is a choice for students to join. The best cadets will get the chance to participate in the national parade. Otherwise, Scouts and Guides are available in the school.
There is a high ratio of students selected for cluster, regional, national, and international-level sports competitions. All their expenses of stay, food, sports jerseys, equipment, and traveling will be arranged and organized by the school only. Although winning and losing is part of the game, making friends all over India is a part of life that everyone learns.
A good CGPA is a must if you want to take admission in the science stream, and it was never less than 8.5 at my time.
All of this builds confidence, humor, skills, discipline, and a well-mannered human. It is all I have seen and was the best exhilarating experience of my life.
Thank you!
